Aunt Martha's
Colonial Patterns, Inc., founded by Jack and Clara Tillotson during the Great Depression in Kansas City, began with the Colonial Readicut Quilt Block Company. Renamed Aunt Martha’s Studios and later Colonial Patterns, Inc., it continues to thrive under the Price family since 1974. Specializing in needlecraft patterns under the Aunt Martha’s® trademark, the company publishes designs for quilting, embroidery, and textile painting. Their introduction of Stitcher’s Revolution® in 2010 aimed to engage both young and old in embroidery, fostering creativity and tradition. Colonial Patterns, Inc. remains a stalwart American-owned family business in Kansas City’s Historic River Market.
