Technics is a Japanese premium audio brand owned by Panasonic, originally introduced in 1965 as a line of high end loudspeakers before expanding into turntables, amplifiers, receivers, and other hi fi equipment. The brand became globally recognized for engineering innovations such as the first direct drive turntable and durable DJ decks that shaped modern music culture. After being phased out in the early 2000s, Technics was relaunched in 2014 due to renewed demand for high fidelity audio and vinyl playback.
