<strong>Polestar is a brand of direct to consumer electric cars that will be offered only on a subscription basis.</strong> Consumers will make a single monthly payment covering maintenance, insurance, and roadside assistance, among other things! The Polestar cars brand has a disruptive model that could save consumers time and eliminate the need for these separate middlemen (insurers, auto shop relationships, etc.). The 600-horsepower <a href="https://www.polestar.com/polestar-1/">Polestar 1 model</a> will be released in the US in 2019 and cost $155,000, according to <a href="https://www.engadget.com/2018/04/25/volvos-polestar-1-luxury-hybrid-155-000/">Engadget.</a> Similar to Tesla's successful strategy, the brand may release their premium flagship car first, and lower-priced models in the future. And while Polestar is currently operated as its own standalone brand, it's also part of the Volvo family, so they'll have big-brand resources and efficiencies there.
